Sean Monaghan is a Detroit-based electronic producer and synth player. Sean has toured throughout the United States as a member of the electronic ensemble EMEWS led by Joo Won Park and provided a live improvised score for Kambui Olitujimi’s acclaimed film Where Does the Time Go?. Sean is also a founding member of the Tech Jazz ensemble at Wayne State, where they currently study. Last summer, Sean collaborated with Detroit’s Remove Records, remixing the label’s roster with field recordings from local Black Lives Matter marches, producing an album to raise money for grassroots organizing. Also a skilled programmer, Sean has developed their own custom patches which they use for sampling and live processing saxophone, using the visual language Max MSP.
