The Guardian reviewed 2018 Fellow Dumama’s new album Buffering Juju. Recorded with Algerian-German producer Kerim Melik Becker in Johannesburg during a two-week residency, the album tells the story of a woman’s liberation from prison. The narrative is rooted in South African folklore. Guardian writer Ammar Kalia called the album “wonderfully inventive”, and gave the album 4 out of 5 stars.
