Kate Campbell Strauss is a lifelong musician who lives in New Orleans and Southern Maine. They play saxophone as a bandleader and side-person at festivals, backyards, concert halls, parades, and clubs. Kate is also a composer, arranger, and producer with commissioned work that is performed nationwide in the US and an original album pending release. Their music education includes numerous community-based mentorships and academic studies at the University of New Orleans and Pomona College. Having found an enduring and vital source of connection in music, Kate seeks collaborations that prioritize inclusivity, community, and empathy. Their music explores the creative process as a catalyst for healing and liberation. Kate is also a music educator who works with students of all ages.
