Edgar Marun is a bass player, multi-instrumentalist, and composer based in Bogotá, Colombia. A student of global music, Edgar is not only fluent in jazz and various forms of traditional Colombian music, but he also has extensive knowledge of Mexican son jarocho. He is the co-director of Dorado Kandua, an ensemble that has developed its sound based on a strong influence of Afrobeat and indigenous Colombian music. Edgar is also the co-director of Rizomagic, an electronic music duo whose sound is based on Caribbean Afrocolombian music and IDM.
