Velvet-like vocals, polished and meticulous arrangements, and Ecuadorian folk-flavored guitars are some of the signatures of Soios, the solo project by Quito-based singer-songwriter Nicolás Alexander. Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Music Production and Sound from Berklee CoM at Universidad San Francisco de Quito and certification as an Ableton Live educator, he has released three albums of original music with Soios exploring the blend of acoustic folk-inspired and pop-influenced songs with surprising modular synth insertions, and has had performance highlights with his audiovisual producer project CHAK, such as playing the Burning Man Festival in 2020. Actively engaged in raising environmental awareness through his work, Nicolás has collaborated with NGO Amazon Frontlines – an international group of multidisciplinary environmental activists – in campaigns advocating for the protection of cultural and natural treasures.
