Sam is a Tal Abbas El Gharbi-based kanun player. After listening to renowned singers Oumkolthum, Mohammad Abdelwahad and Sabah Fakhry growing up, Sam became inspired to study Arabic music, attending Beit al Musika music school. A disciplined musician, Sam performs with impressive virtuosity as well as a deep and personal expressiveness. An active collaborator, Sam has performed alongside many of Lebanon’s leading Arabic classical musicians and ensembles. A dedicated educator with years of teaching experience, currently Sam leads online kanun courses due to the COVID restrictions, while running a small independent barber shop.
