Oktawia Anna Pączkowska

Oktawia is a composer and sound artist from Krakow, Poland. She received her Master’s in composition and music theory from the Academy of Music in Krakow, Poland and is currently working on her PhD project in composition, which involves the creation of an immersive and interactive musical experience, incorporating VR/AR technology to allow audience members to influence the content of the performance. She has won many noteworthy competition prizes, such as the Keiko Yoneda International Composers’ Competition and the Over the Rainbow Compositions for Human Rights competition. As an advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and a strong believer in music as a tool for social change, Oktawia addresses and examines topics ranging from self-image, the rights of the LGBTQ+ community in Poland, and the perception of military conflicts in her compositions. A composer grounded in classical academic training, Lizaveta’s mission is to dismantle the traditional constraints of music by combining various modes of artistic expression.
