Nancy Cano is an electric bass player based in Bogotá. A highly skilled instrumentalist with tasteful sound and fluent playing, Nancy is a much demanded session musician, piling up collaborations with countless names from Bogotá’s popular music scene, covering a plethora of genres. Since 2019, she has played with rising singer-songwriter Lucio Feuillet, performing on important stages such as the Teatro Colón, Teatro Julio Mario Santo Domingo, and Teatro Jorge Eliecer Gaitán. Since 2020, she has performed with singer-songwriter, accordionist, and big band leader Gregorio Uribe, known for presenting cumbia and other traditional rhythms in the world in an energetic big band and trio format. Nancy also plays bass in the band La Rola, alongside OneBeat Colombia alumna Kamy Drums. In May 2023, she was in a program at the USA embassy called AMERICAN MUSIC ABROAD, where participated as a bassist in an artistic creation residency. She is currently co-producing music with the Argentinian singer Solange Prat. She has studied with notable names like Argentinian bassist Andrés Rotmitrovsky and Brazilian virtuoso Thiago Espirito Santo, and is a passionate music teacher herself.
