Julie Hill is a composer/ vocalist from Brooklyn, NY. She uses synthesizers, field recordings and her voice to create ambient soundscapes and sometimes songs. A dedicated educator working in underserved schools in New York, Julie prioritizes the exploration of music as a vessel for creativity and self expression. Her work as a teacher has brought her to India, the Bronx and Brooklyn. As a composer, Julie has been exploring the combination of modular synthesis and electronics with the acoustic world of classical orchestra. She also produces different sorts of indie rock ranging from her 80s-inspired album released on GALTTA in 2020 to her more current psych pop coming out on Manimal Vinyl in 2023.
