Hadja Fanta Diabaté

Hadja Fanta Diabaté is a Bamako-based composer and singer-songwriter. Her first Album “Sabaly,” was released in 2018, and she was soon afterwards dubbed “the Queen of Malian rock” by Malian press outlets. Hadja music mixes elements of rock, jazz, blues, and Mandingue music. She recently composed the original soundtrack for the short film “Kofi’s Dream”, and is preparing a new album, which will feature her voice in an acoustic jazz setting. An active educator, Hadja works in primary schools to promote the study of traditional Mande music. She also lends her voice to causes promoting development and environmental sustainability, and provides advice and guidance to youth in her community. Hadja believes that music and songs can influence people, bringing about a more peaceful and positive life for all.
