Gulshan Taalaibekova is a talented Kyrgz instrumentalist, who has been studying traditional music from a young age. She is a soloist and leading artist of the komuz ensemble AKAK and has performed in many government and international concerts and festivals. Gulshan is also a member of the folk orchestra of TURKSOY, an international organization for the preservation of Turkic culture. She has toured internationally and has an impressive resume of cross-cultural collaboration. Gulshan is a winner of the 2019 Eurasia Emerging Artists competition for young musicians. In addition to her work as a performing musician, Gulshan is a passionate educator with a position as a komuz teacher at the special musical boarding school named after M.Abdraev in Bishkek.
