Gabriella Puteri Miranda is a Jakarta-based pianist, teacher and composer. Starting her classical piano education at a young age, she has also been influenced by jazz, pop, electronic music. Having majored in Contemporary Piano Performance at the University of Pelita Harapan, she later attended workshops with renowned players such as Indra Lesmana, Kris Goessens (Holland) and Aaron Goldberg (U.S.). Gabriella has since played for notable orchestras and bands that have participated in a number of popular festivals including Java Jazz Festival, Indonesian Jazz Festival, ASEAN Jazz Festival, and Soundrenaline. She is currently an active member of the jazz ensemble Untitled Band, new-wave band The Upstairs and formed an electronic ambient duo JESLLA. Recently diving deeper into electronic music an its subgenres, Gabriella has been vocal about her role as part of a new generation of female electronic producers in Indonesia. Inspired by her North Sumatran Batak family background, she has also shown an interest in incorporating traditional Indonesian folk music and instruments in her eclectic soundscapes for her future projects.
