A graduate of UNICAMP (Campinas), Bruna specializes in both classic Brazilian music, influenced by tropicália artists like Gal Costa and Caetano Veloso, and global pop styles. “I believe in micro politics and in the potential for real change through art,” says Bruna whose collaborative projects span the worlds of art and activism. Bruna’s ensemble YANAY, which was formed as part of a residency with visual artists in rural Paranáher, was recently awarded grant from IBERMUSICAS to present their compositions at Berklee College in Valencia, Spain.
