Ana Milena Lozada Avella

Ana Milena is a classically-trained Colombian musician who has participated in major national and international music festivals and has collaborated as a singer, arranger, and improviser in numerous independent projects. Strongly engaged with social and political issues, Ana is a member of the collective Aletea: Mujer Libre y Poderosa, a group of leaders and defenders of the Colombian territory, and has led songwriting workshops aimed at the empowerment of women. Ana has also worked with the LGBTQI+ community in the Playing The Drum Like a Girl project, leading vocal workshops with a focus on “the voice as a sound tool and its empowerment for social transformation”. She is working towards the release of her debut album, ‘Liebre Roja’ (Red Hare), which is “committed to the transformation of the conception of women in society.”
