Born in Omsk, Siberia, Alina Anufrienko is a Moscow-based cellist and composer. She contributes to several duos and orchestras, from DianaPlays Perception, an improvisational project, to an experimental ensemble started by 2019 OneBeat Fellow Sasha Elina, that is interested in various ways of interdisciplinary interaction. Alina is a regular contributor to Theatre.Doc, a performance group aimed at creating socially aware and education-focused works and some initiatives they have spearheaded have included the provision of music therapy classes to local activists, as well as collaborations with Newspaper “Novaya Gazeta”, and “Glasnaya” project, aimed at protecting human rights, overcoming stereotypes and promoting gender equality in the Russian society.
