2014 OneBeat Fellow Dahlak Brathwaite has been selected for the US State Department’s hip hop diplomacy program Next Level. Dahlak will be representing the country on Team Uzbekistan for the 2018 trip, which will also include teams visiting Guatemala, Jerusalem, Nigeria, The Philippines, Turkey and The Dominican Republic. He will join Atlanta’s DJ Princess Cut, Brooklyn producer and MC ADUM⁷, Boston-based dancer Leanskee and lead facilitator Mahogany Jones in Tashkent later this year. The group will conduct public concerts, interactive performances with local musicians, lecture demonstrations, workshops, and jam sessions with diverse audiences.
