Saideh Eftekhari is a Tehran-born vocalist, violinist and setar player based in San Francisco. She credits her Midwestern upbringing in Wichita, Kansas as well as childhood trips to Iran as inspiring her lifelong passion for international folk and mystical music. Drawing upon her profound knowledge of both Western and Middle Eastern traditional music, Saideh’s performance explores motifs of transcendence and meditative states. Saideh also explores these themes in her work as a music teacher and sound healing practitioner engaged with a range of Bay Area communities. In 2014, Saideh released her first full-length album of original compositions with Khatchadour Khatchadourian, a vocalist and duduk player of Armenian ancestry.
