Oyuntuya Enkhbat is a skilled yatga (traditional Mongolian zither) player and composer. Beginning music lessons at age 10, Oyuntuya went on to study abroad, receiving a Master Masters degree from the Korean National University of Seoul. Oyuntuya has performed with a number of acclaimed traditional music ensembles in Mongolia, including the prestigious State Morin Khuur Ensemble, an ensemble she also arranges for. Oyuntuya has received countless awards including special prize at People’s Artist, State Laureate of Mongolia L. Murdorj’s State Competition of Folk Musicians, University of Culture and the National Folk Musicians Competition. Recently, Oyuntuya has begun to compose for film, collaborating on a score with the animator Undram Batdelger.
