Moisés Horta Valenzuela, known as Hexorcismos, is an artist,
technologist, and musician from Tijuana, Mexico. Currently based in
Berlin, he creates artworks at the intersection of computer music, AI,
and digital technology through a decolonial lens. His project SEMILLA.AI
embodies both traditional and state-of-the-art sound technologies,
allowing users to explore neural audio synthesis. His work has been
featured in prominent venues and festivals such as Ars Electronica,
MUTEK, and the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm. Hexorcismos aims to
democratize AI music tools, making them accessible for broader artistic
exploration and cultural reflection.
Hexorcismos’ MUTUALISMX, is a planetary-spawning collaborative music
album. This AI-driven music project features contributions from artists
worldwide, including KMRU, Ale Hop, and El Irreal Veintiuno, among
others. Using SEMILLA.AI, the project explores how AI can blend and
transform the unique sonic identities of each artist into a cohesive,
genre-defying compilation. The project emphasizes the use of “small
data” to create a counter-narrative to the biases inherent in
mass-culture AI models, aiming to democratize AI and highlight diverse
cultural perspectives. The result is an sprawling experimental album
that challenges conventional AI-generated music and offers new
possibilities for artistic collaboration using these new technologies.
