Eugene Lai is a Taipei-born clarinetist, composer, and researcher. He studied bass clarinet at the Prins Claus Conservatorium in the Netherlands. Eugene is dedicated to developing repertoire and extended techniques for a range of low-register clarinets. He has worked as a clarinetist, composer, and arranger for symphony orchestras and diverse ensembles across Asia and Europe. He currently performs with Les jeux d’anches, a reed quintet based in Taiwan which he also co-founded.
