Elyse Tabet is an audio-visual artist based in Beirut, Lebanon. Recording as Litter, Elyse makes pulsing ambient music that is both placid and disquieting. Her record label Syrphe, which released her debut album Newfound Grids, describes Elyse’s music as a “machine running out of power.” As Elyse remembers: “I began as a visual artist constantly fueled by music. In 2008, I started experimenting with video art, accompanying live electronic acts in Beirut. This led to my interest in multimedia and how sound and image interact.”
