Alexia Webster is a South African photographer and video artist based in between New York City and Johannesburg. From creating family portrait studios in spaces of displacement to documenting youth culture movements, her work has been exploring issues around migration, identity and intimacy. She has been featured in The New York Times, National Geographic, Le Monde, WIRED, CNN and Time magazine amongst others. She was awarded the Artraker Award for Art in Conflict, the CAP Prize award for Contemporary African Photography, the International Womens Media Foundation Adelante Reporting Initiative and received the Frank Arisman Scholarship at the International Centre of Photography in New York City.
