Zihning TAI

Zihning Tai is an avant-garde Taiwanese improviser, violist, and composer deeply fascinated with exploring the boundless possibilities of sound. Tai primarily focuses on experimental music improvisation and composing for contemporary theater. Drawn to the infinite nature of music, she collaborates deeply with dancers, exploring music visualization, as well as the relationships and boundaries between movement, body, sound, and space through the use of graphic scores. Recently, Tai has collaborated with dancers including Nam Jeong-Ho (KR), Tien Hsiao-Tzu (TW), and Kai-Yu LIN (TW), and engaged in musical exchanges with improvisers like Yuki Saga (JP) and LEE Shih-Yang (TW), alongside participating in the Seoul International Dance Festival and TIFA Contemporary Music Platform.
