Singer, musician, and composer Bill Carson has been a vibrant presence in Charleston’s independent music scene for the past decade. Drawing influences from Americana, avant-garde, and classical music, Carson has contributed his talents to numerous bands, including Opposite of a Train, Lindsay Holler’s Western Polaroids, the New Music Collective, and Garage Cuban Band. His homespun folk-rock solo album, The Whale/Say it Don’t Spray It, was released by Shrimp Records in 2009. In addition to his performances and pop recordings, he has received commissions to create works for theatre, dance, and film. Recently, he collaborated with Japanese artist Motoi Yamamoto on Return to the Sea, a video for the Spoleto Festival USA. Bill Carson joined OneBeat in Charleston, SC.
