Teagan Faran

A native of Buffalo, NY, Teagan Faran is a multidisciplinary musician focused on enacting social change through the arts. Faran has served as concertmaster of the University of Michigan Symphony Orchestra and the Ann Arbor Camerata, and has performed with the Buffalo Philharmonic, the University of Vermont Symphony, La Martino Orquesta Típica, and had compositions featured at the NYSSMA Conference and the Persis Vehar Competition for Excellence. In addition to being a Turn The Spotlight Fellow, receiving their inaugural Hedwig Holbrook Prize, Faran is also a Fulbright Fellow, travelling to Argentina to investigate community building traditions through performance in urban and rural environments. She also founded the all-arts collective Red Shoe Company in Ann Arbor, MI to use the “synergetic power” of the performing arts to begin dialogues on social change in Southeast Michigan.
