Produced with Brooklyn–based artist Devin Greenwood, who has collaborated with musicians as diverse as Steve Reich, Norah Jones and Sufjan Stevens, the album was recorded in the breathtaking landscape of Central Oregon’s burnt forests and volcanic lakes at Caldera Arts Center. The record features a vast array of musicians, hailing from 5 continents, including internationally acclaimed Belarusian electronica artist Natallia Kunitskaya, 20-year old Kyrgyzstani komuz prodigy Aisaana Omorova, award-winning South African jazz bandleader Mandla Mlangeni, Nile Music Project collaborator Rapasa Otieno and Moroccan superstar Mehdi Nassouli, who has performed with luminaries Herbie Hancock, Fatoumata Diawara, Nneka, and Alpha Blondy.

The results span Eastern Bloc electronica, the deep meditative grooves of the North African Guembri, infectious African raga, and the silky melodies of Sao Paolo’s underground scene, in a shining example of how we can reimagine the paradigms of global music, morphing and expanding musical traditions while bringing communities together in the name of artistic collaboration and innovation. Take a listen, and head down a musical wormhole with us, emerging in a new galaxy of invigorating musical possibilities.
