Gülşah Erol

Gülşah Erol is an Istanbul-based composer and musician. While studying piano and cello at Anadolu University State Conservatory, Gülşah developed a passion for avant-garde and experimental performance, as well as film scoring. She has composed music for four documentaries centered around Turkish and Armenian relations, and contributed as a cellist to numerous award-winning films, including Atlıkarınca (Merry-Go-Round) and Gişe Memuru (Toll Booth). Her film work has earned her numerous honors including Radikal Public Jury award (2010) and Best Golden Tulip award (2011). Outside of her film work, Gülşah has toured with acclaimed orchestras and new music ensembles across Europe, including ABSTRA and Birds Ensemble. Recently, she collaborated on the soundtrack for Sarmaşık, which was screened at Sundance and East End Festival to widespread acclaim.
