PoemaTheatre is a group of artists working with artistic possibilities based on the motion (movement) of the body through time and space. The group was founded by Valentin Tzin in St. Petersburg in 2009 with performance of their inaugural piece “Tango-Wheel,” at the carriage house of the Hermitage state museum. Transforming experience in the sphere of physical theatre, contemporary dance, and Butoh, PoemaTheatre has created concepts, actions, and performances for over seven years, and presented work at festivals such as Arkhstoyanie, Territoria, GogolFest, Midsummer Nights Dream, and Fakt. Currently based in Moscow, The group regularly conducts seminars and labs as an open exploration of new possibilities, most recently their “Out of the Forest Project”.
