Lama Zakharia

Lama Zakharia is a Jordanian vocalist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist whose career in music came as something of a surprise. While pursuing undergraduate degrees in psychology and history, Lama joined her university choir and discovered a passion for vocal harmony. This newfound shift would pave the way for various musical undertakings, including founding her own jazz band in Jordan, producing the 15-episode musical comedy and political satire series Fa Sol Ya, and co-founding the a cappella group Tarab 3al 7atab, who went on to be semi-finalists in Arabs Got Talent. Highly lauded for both her creativity and her production savvy, Lama works to explore the intersection of western popular music and Arabic traditions through her ongoing experimental electronic projects, including Madame Lam.
