Andrey Dolgov is a Saint Petersburg-based balalaika and domra player. The son of a conductor and music teacher, Andrey embarked his musical study at an early age and went on to attend Saint Petersburg State Conservatory, where he earned a PHD in conducting. As a member of the renowned folk group Quintet of Four, Andrey has won numerous international competitions including TEREM Crossover (2010, 2012) and the Prix International Competition’ ‘Silver Tuning Fork’ (2011). In addition to his prodigious work as a performer, Andrey is a dedicated educator and currently serves as artistic director for TEREMA, a youth-based orchestra which contributes to the “development of creative thinking and emotional emancipation of young musicians.”
